A Hospital Visit

This morning, I went to the public hospital for the first time since coming here.  It’s a very nice hospital, looks like any that could be in the states, but the staff there doesn’t know how to use all the new equipment.  The reason I was there wasn’t fun.  Three Beautiful Gate children are in the hospital.  One has been there for 6 weeks and he did not look good.  He is still very tiny, looks like a premature newborn, even though he’s 7 weeks old.  He obviously has lost weight and looks very sickly.  He’s on oxygen as well.  Please pray for miraculous healing for him.  Also, please pray for the care worker who has been there for him the whole time.  She has done an amazing job for him.

The second went in the hospital last Saturday.  He is underweight as well, but not quite as bad.  Unfortunately the children here at Beautiful Gate have had a bug going around and a lot of the children have been losing weight because they can’t keep anything in them.  This child is one of those, but he’s also a newborn.  So, losing weight is even more dangerous for him.  Please pray for him to be healed.  He was on oxygen and had an iv.  Please also pray of this care taker.

The third went to the hospital last night.  She also caught what’s been going around here at Beautiful Gate and was losing too much weight and not keeping anything down.  She cried for a lot of the time we were there and you could tell she was pretty miserable.  She is also a newborn.  Pray for her to be healed and to be calmed.  Pray for her care taker as well.

Also, as we were walking out, we met a doctor for this ward.  He told us that all the children (all 40 of them) in the hospital are malnourished.  He didn’t understand how this could be happening.  Please pray for the poverty and malnourishment in Lesotho.  With 30-40% unemployment, many people are having to make tough choices.  People aren’t able to care for their families.

Thank you for your prayers.  May God do a mighty work in this situation!

“Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.  If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it.”  ~ John 14:13-14 (ESV)

“Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits, who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit, who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy, who satisfies you with good so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.”  ~ Psalms 103:2-5 (ESV)
