A Child’s Mother

The first child that joined the Beautiful Gate family after I arrived was a boy whose mother had become ill.  The treatment for her illness was about 6 months and they didn’t want the boy to catch the illness.  So he was brought here to be cared for during her treatment period.  That was in October.

Today his mother came to visit him.  This was the first time she has visited since he arrived here.  She is finally well.  I saw her holding her little boy, she had tears in her eyes.  You could tell how much she loved him and how much she missed him.  You could also tell how comfortable he was with her.  I think he recognized her.

She brought food for him and was giving him food.  She wanted his shoe size so she could buy him new shoes.  It was beautiful to see.  I am so glad she returned and I look forward to the day she is reunited officially with her son.

Sometimes the stories here aren’t so encouraging, but this story, this moment was a bright one in my day.  Seeing the love in the mother’s eyes makes me grateful to be here.  I am glad Beautiful Gate is here so this child could be cared for while his mother got well.  Thank you Lord for all you have done here and for this family.
