Ushaka Marine World

While in Durban, we took a day to go to Ushaka Marine World.  It has a great aquarium and dolphins.

When you first walk in you see portholes into fish tanks.

Then you get the large fish tanks with some cool looking fish in them.

This next fish is a stone fish.  There were a couple in the tank and it took a while to figure out what was a fish and what was a rock.

I love sea turtles!

Some of the tanks were really neat like this next one.

And lots of jelly fish in a circular tank made it very pretty.  I’ve seen lots of jelly fish in the Chesapeake Bay, but this was different.  Pretty sure it was a different kind too.

Sting Rays!!!!

And half way through the aquarium we all left and went to the dolphin show.

Then we went and saw penguins!

Then we headed back to the aquarium.  Those are fish you see in that tank.  They look a bit like some other form of sea life.

Sharks!!!  Every time I saw this one, the theme of Jaws was in my head.

This next one was a cool looking fish, hard to get a good picture of though.

Coral!

Starfish!

So this is the underside of a star fish.  It looks like gems.  Very cool looking.

And one last tank.

And that was my trip to Ushaka.  Highly recommend it for anyone going to Durban.
